Tessa Jowell Health Centre

The KFM Renal Technicians played a key role in the design, planning and setting up of the renal dialysis unit at the new Tessa Jowell Health Centre. The dialysis unit provides state of the art facilities for renal patients which opened in June 2020.

The Supply Chain team were instrumental in establishing the new dialysis unit stock rooms and ensuring the clinical teams had access to all the consumables they required. KFM Renal Technicians and Supply Chain teams pulled out all the stops to deliver a smooth opening on 1st June 2020.

What benefits did KFM bring to this project?

  • Procurement of new dialysis machines which support tailored patient care and provide productivity benefits to the clinical team

  • New dialysis machines which provide access monitoring, enabling clinicians to spot early signs of complications, which will avoid surgery and prolonged hospitalisation

  • A new centralised system for delivering liquids to the dialysis machines, which has resulted in the following outcomes:

    • £14k cost saving per annum

    • 3.7 tonnes of recycling avoided per annum

    • 391 hours of clinical time released per annum

The KFM Renal Technicians and Supply Chain teams displayed the KFM Values & Behaviours, showing that positive energy, working together and determination can deliver great results, benefiting both renal dialysis patients and the clinical teams.

Well done team!
