KFM National Apprentice Week

Welcome to National Apprenticeship Week! Here at KFM, we want to take the opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits an apprenticeship can offer.

So far, we have focused on offering apprenticeships which provide an opportunity for staff already working in the business to develop their skills and knowledge while continuing in their role. At the end of the apprenticeship, they will have achieved a nationally recognised qualification which will help them develop their careers further.

This week, on our social media accounts; Twitter & LinkedIn you will get the chance to hear from several of your colleagues who have been undertaking these apprenticeships at KFM. They will be talking about their experience of the Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship, the Level 5, Chartered Management Apprenticeship and the Degree Apprenticeship in Clinical Engineering.

We’ve recently expanded our apprenticeship offer and several staff have enrolled in two new apprenticeships:

  • CIPS Level 4 Apprenticeship – Diploma in Procurement and Supply

  • Level 4 Associate Project Manager

During 2022, we will continue to add to our apprenticeship offer with the following:

  • Level 3 Pharmacy Technician

  • Healthcare Science Level 4

  • Customer Service Level 3

We are also considering whether it would be possible for us to offer a Level 2 Healthcare Science Apprenticeship which would be open to new recruits as the first step in building their career at KFM.

The apprenticeship data from Education, Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) shows that London NHS levy paying employers generated a total of 3,418 apprenticeship starts during the 2020-21 academic year. This compares to 2,678 apprenticeships generated in 2019-20, representing a 27.6% increase.

KFM wants to contribute to an even bigger growth in ‘apprentice starts’ in 2022/23!

Maths and English courses

To help any member of staff who would like to improve their skills in English and/or Maths, free courses are available. You only need to attend college once a month, the rest of the studying is done online, with weekly TEAMS sessions.

If you would like to find out more contact Chris at the Green Man Skills Zone: cytchris@btinternet.com

The next enrolment day is Wednesday 9th February for candidates wishing to join on the 23rd February 2022.
